Hopefully I have this correct this time...

I'd like a vote on hosting the Qpid C++ 0.5 installer for
Windows
at
qpid.apache.org.

The binary is at:
http://www.riverace.com/qpid/qpidc-0.5.msi

The signature and sum are at:
http://www.riverace.com/qpid/qpidc-0.5.msi.asc
http://www.riverace.com/qpid/qpidc-0.5.msi.sha1

My public key is at:
http://www.riverace.com/qpid/Steve_Huston.key
Fyi: the msi installed ok for me (on Windows XP) but I was then unable to start the broker:

   C:\Program Files\Apache\qpidc-0.5\bin>qpidbroker
The system cannot execute the specified program.
Do you have Visual Studio 2008 (VC 9) installed?
No, do I need it?

Yes. I assumed it would be there but, in reality, it need not be
unless you're writing client programs.

Were there any other error windows displayed?
No.

Ok... So the VC9 run-time is a requirement that wasn't clearly
documented.

If you're game for continuing this test, could you please grab the
Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable package from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9B2DA534-3E03
-4391-8A4D-074B9F2BC1BF&displaylang=en

And install that, then re-run the broker. No need to reinstall Qpid.

I will do that as soon as I get a spare moment. However given Roberts validation I'm happy to vote +1 for releasing this without waiting for me. (Will do that on the actual vote thread).
