Pete Fawcett commented on PROTON-2531:
--------------------------------------
Ok. I would suggest using {{raw_unicode_escape}} rather than latibn-1 as that
seems to work for all byte values (0 -255).
I have added a test to check the handling of tags with a wider selection of
byte values.
I have also been working through the unit tests to use bytes when comparing the
tag and was going to submit a PR when that was done - but equally happy to go
with just a different encoding.
> Delivery tag is str while it should be bytes

> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: python-binding

> Priority: Major
>
> According to AMQP standard delivery tag is ??up to 32 octets of binary
> data??. Proton C library also has it in binary format.
> But in the Python binding {{Delivery.tag}} is a string, which causes issues
> when trying to use it (i.e. print/visualize).
> As far as I understand this is down to Swig {{python/cproton.i}}
> {{wrap_pn_delivery_tag}} (since typemap for {{pn_delivery_tag_t}} seems to be
> correct)?
