I tend to agree with this. I've also been using git-svn for years and find that there are only a small number of times when I wish we were using git project wide. Nearly all of the time I get most of the needed productivity from git and am not hampered by having to ultimately push back to svn. So I'm pretty happy carrying on in the same manner we're already working. Also note that if we went to using git we'd have to much more carefully agree our branching and merging policy in the "repo of record".
