Ranger community, The community has added 90+ commits since the release of Apache Ranger 2.5.0 about 5 months back. I propose we start preparing for Apache Ranger 2.6.0 to include these updates, by mid of January 2025.
Git branch ranger-2.6 will be used for this release. If you would like any improvement or fix to be included in this release, please ensure the fix-version is set to 2.6.0 in JIRA. Here are few key improvements: - critical performance improvements in policy evaluation - HBase plugin performance improvements - tagsync fixes to support Ozone resources - utility to migrate admin audits from x_trx_log table to x_trx_log_v2 table - custom condition to support validity schedules in policy items - UI update to replace Bootbox.js with Bootprompt.js - updated use of UserGroupInformation.doAs() to support Kerberos in Trino plugin (JDK23) - fixed issues in support for Oracle database Apache Ranger PMC would appreciate your contributions and feedback in getting 2.6.0 release out.
