In general, though, as we move to the build structure discussion, are
you OK with using dependency management. I’m not big on putting
other people’s software distributions into our source repository,
especially if we’re going to see more dependencies as time goes on.
Yes, i'm ok. Clearly we are not gaining critical mass where it comes
to gaining interest and new blood for much needed innovations and
improvements. Whe cannot let Peter do the work on his own, and the
longer we let Peter work in isolation, without bringing his work into
the main trunk, the worse we are of.
So if we need to change things, i see the adoptition of popular tools
as a way to enlist others to work on river. Gradle i view as a bit
much, maven should be general knowledge nowadays. I still claim we can
do without it, but if we need a popular (and therefore recocnizable
feel) to increase the adoption, i'm all for it. The way it is going
right now, is an agony to most i think.
