+1,
SMX 5.x can go on EOL after those releases, and now focus on SMX 6 & 7
(it's aligned with the Karaf versions lifecycle).

Hi
I'd like to summarize the IRC discussion about ServiceMix 5. We have currently
3 active branches: 5.4.x, 5.5.x and 5.x (for 5.6.x)
* 5.4.x (Karaf 2.4.3, Camel 2.14.4, CXF 3.0.5, ActiveMQ 5.11.3) - I'm going
to upgrade it to Karaf 2.4.4 and release the last version 5.4.3 from this
branch - no new releases are expected for the dependencies. I propose to make
the branch EOL after the next release
* 5.5.x (Karaf 2.4.3, Camel 2.15.5, CXF 3.0.6, ActiveMQ 5.12.1) - I'm going
to upgrade to Karaf 2.4.4 and ActiveMQ 5.12.2 and release the version 5.5.3.
Here we can still expect the new Camel releases so we should still maintain
this branch
* 5.x (Karaf 2.4.3, Camel 2.16.1, CXF 3.1.4, ActiveMQ 5.12.1) - I'm going
to upgrade to Karaf 2.4.4, ActiveMQ 5.12.2 and Camel 2.16.2 (under the vote)
and release the 5.6.0. Here we can still expect some releases for Camel and
ActiveMQ so we should maintain this branch as long we have new releases for the
dependencies.
I propose to stop the further maintenance of ServiceMix 5 with EOL of
ServiceMix 5.6.x (the 5.x branch). We should focus then only on ServiceMix 6
and 7 (which should be already a stable version). We should also advice people
to migrate to ServiceMix 6 or 7.
Regards
Krzysztof
