Right now SocialSite is stuck in Oracle/Sun legal limbo which has caused the

It really is sad.
Dave Johnson tried very hard to keep things moving or get them moving again, but in the end had to give up and the Apache Incubator project for SocialSite was tabled.

Which is why I and a group of other interested people and parties are currently working on a new Apache Incubator project proposal to fill in that vacuum :)

Jesse already hinted at this earlier and the MITRE osec project is one of the
parties involved, but there are more ...
We're getting pretty close to wrapping up the initial ground work for this and
bring our proposal forward to the Apache Incubator.

So stay tuned, I think we have a seriously interesting project proposal coming
up!

@Thorsten:
Our project group already has at least 3 Apache Incubator Mentors as candidates, as well as several Apache committers and members listed, but their is always room for more :)
You and others most definitely will be very welcome to join and help the
project forward!

Ate

Correct, but as far as I remember it is dead. There has been one
attempt to revive the project within ASF but I am not sure it went
through.

Any other candidate ;-) ?

Sweet, that is fantastic timing. ;)

I will try it out and give you feedback.

We have a project were we have to deliver a social network site, so we
may can help enhancing/extending it.

If you thinking about going into incubation I may help out as mentor.

Hi Thorsten,

We just released our Java based container to:

http://code.google.com/p/osec/

Our immediate goal for the project was to replace our heavy-weight
commercial portal product, so we don't have profile pages or any of the
more
"social" aspects of Partuza in this release, but we do plan to integrate
more of those types of features in the future.

We're also working with a few other groups who have similar container
implementations on an effort to bring them together and create a larger
more
feature rich enterprise container -- we're hoping to get an Apache
incubator
project started soon to support that effort.

Hi all,

I was looking around for java based alternatives of
http://code.google.com/p/partuza/

The point for me to look into something like partuza is that I
already
get a functional container solution. I refer to I get login,
profile
view and other functionality out-of-the-box which reduces the dev
time
considerably.

Is there similar for java?

TIA
