Backport SLIDER-1010 (Slider AM launch error on secure cluster) to 0.81 ?

Hi,

The latest available release 0.81 has a blocker
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLIDER-1010 as far as secured cluster
is involved.

The fix looks non-intrusive and of minimal risk. Would it possible to
backport it to 0.81 ?
