Topic came up about reindexing and Solr after seeing Sematext’s blog post about their solr-reindexer tool: https://sematext.com/blog/solr-reindexer-quick-way-to-reindex-to-a-new-collection/
I went to read https://solr.apache.org/guide/solr/latest/indexing-guide/reindexing.html and noticed that there is no mention of the REINDEXCOLLECTION command. Should we put a mention of it as an option? Likewise we could reference some of the tools that are out there…. Or point to (if it existed) a list of reindexing tools on http://solr.cool site…. Lastly, am I understanding that REINDEXCOLLECTION only works within a single cluster, you can’t use it to index across clusters right? That probably should be flagged on the https://solr.apache.org/guide/solr/latest/deployment-guide/collection-management.html#reindexcollection page ;-) Eric _______________________ Eric Pugh | Founder & CEO | OpenSource Connections, LLC | 434.466.1467 | http://www.opensourceconnections.com <http://www.opensourceconnections.com/> | My Free/Busy <http://tinyurl.com/eric-cal> Co-Author: Apache Solr Enterprise Search Server, 3rd Ed <https://www.packtpub.com/big-data-and-business-intelligence/apache-solr-enterprise-search-server-third-edition-raw> This e-mail and all contents, including attachments, is considered to be Company Confidential unless explicitly stated otherwise, regardless of whether attachments are marked as such.
