Speaking of which, it's bad to aim --updatedir at site_rules_dir or default_rules_dir, or any other directory that is supposed to have files other than the updates since everything else gets deleted. As for the specific issue here -- we should already have documentation on how SA finds the rules to read and in what order it does so (if we don't, well, that's an issue.)
