Existing devs don't care, and aren't willing to give access to anybody who does. It's open source. You could do an unofficial release. The daily builds have been working fine for me: https://launchpad.net/~darxus/+archive/spamassassin-daily What needs to happen for a release? Tarring up trunk, and testing it?
