Yes, that's how I was planning to structure the packages.  There would be a
main (Carbon) RPM, then RPMs for the individual components that depend on the
main RPM.  As such a yum install stratos-lb for example would pull in
stratos-carbon automatically, etc.

Jason, have you had any thoughts about how you would package stratos?

I started a thread on this topic a while back [1] but haven't had much
thought on the topic since then.

At the time I was thinking that I would first package carbon as a
deb/rpm and then package features (lb, cc, etc) as deb/rpm packages
that have a dependency on the carbon package.

Small typo below, should say "...thus making the install yum friendly...".

Great that you mention this Chris.  I've been planning on taking on the same
task, i.e. creating Stratos RPMs thus making the ins.  I can work on this
and share results with you and the rest of the devs to move this along.

Cheers

Apache Cloudstack provide nice native deb and rpm packages for
installing Cloudstack.

It would be good if Stratos could be installed in a similar manner.

This task is on my list, but it will probably be some time before I get to
it.
