Sorry for the late vote - my vote is for "alpha" quality as well, mainly for the same "standalone tiles is not released" reason cited by others, but also because of the way Commons Validator has been implemented. It appears that the implementation was done based on an old version of validator where the javascript was embedded in the XML config file. This means that 1) maintenance of that javascript is the responsibility of Shale and 2) upgrading to later versions of validator (such as the 1.3.0 version just released) won't pick up bugfixes in the javascript as users would expect. Is there any objection to changing Shale to use the javascript from Commons Validator?

Craig, as far as I can tell, there was never an announcement for Shale 1.0.0, and it isn't in www.apache.org/dist/struts. What would you like to see happen with this one? At this point, my only distribution plans are to put the test framework jar on ibiblio (via www.apache.org/dist/maven-repository) so that MyFaces can use it for their release.
