+1 I am fundamentally lazy. Not up front, but I'd imagine it pays off later, often significantly so. ObCaveat: I've never dealt with anything on the scale of an Orbitz/Amazon/eBay/etc., but even with the significantly more complicated configuration management I'd believe the payoff could be even greater than in my relatively simplistic environments.
