Actually, unless I'm mistaken, it was originally ASF-wide, starting quite a few years ago, and as far as I'm aware, it still is, even if there are one or two non-compliant projects. To answer Paul's question, the major concerns are of a perception that the ASF is endorsing donated products by advertising said products on ASF web sites, and how that relates to the nature of the ASF as a 501(c)3 charitable organisation. If someone wants to pursue this, I would suggest taking it to prc@ and / or legal-disc...@.
