I agree. Nevertheless, the effort already undertaken should at least be preserved in a sbase repository which I asked Connor to set up. For 9base the main purpose is mk and rc (and the assumptions of mk to rely on a rc shell) -- it will be hard to pointless to rewrite those for the sake of 9base.
