Greetings, Superset Community!

Now that SIP-74 has passed, I/we wanted to let you all know that as laid out in
the plan, we’ve cut an lts-v1 branch on the repo. We will work toward this
1.5.0 release based on this branch soon, and from then on continue to support
security-based or bug fix minor and patch releases as warranted. From this
point on, the Master branch is open to the voted-in breaking changes in support
of 2.0, which are being tracked on this project board. When this work is
considered complete, we’ll put forth the 2.0 release candidate.

Any breaking changes which were not part of the approved proposal should be
held back for now, and will be considered for an eventual 3.0 release project.
We’ll also carry forward any learnings from this 2.0 process into that 3.0
process, and when 3.0 is eventually released, 2.X will become the LTS version
just like 1.X is as of today.

In a related update, the Superset Operational Model X.0 working group met this
morning. Here are the brief notes from that sync:

Last met: 2/24 9am PST
Next meeting: 3/3, 9am PST (Zoom link available on the Superset Community

• Discussed the messaging of the email you’re reading right now :)

Evan Rusackas
