Hi, and thanks for opening the issue! As stated on the PR, the prevailing opinion is that the change is straightforward enough that you can go direct to opening a PR, and have that auto-close the issue. There doesn’t seem to be a need to go through the formal SIP numbering and Dicussion/Voting process here on the list. In case anyone here on the list sees this and feels otherwise, consider this email as a request for lazy consensus to proceed with the change.
