Oliver, All releases are release candidates. If they fail, they get re-rolled.
Personally, I hate when podlings present -rcX to the incubator. It's like they feel strongly they will fail so need a safety net. I will say that since the maven repository was already released, that may be an issue. Once you fix the release vote thread format, I'll respond noting that, but also note it was your first attempt to RM and released it by accident before the IPMC vote.
