John, the error seems to be saying that Maven is unable to access
https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/maven/maven-archiver/2.5/maven-archiver-2.5.pom
over the network. Maybe you're on a network that blocks access or that
requires you to configure Maven to use a proxy?
