**Alpha testing update.** We ran a first round of internal testing with a small group of bioinformatics researchers who hadn't used Texera before, deploying a Form View workflow (cellqc) for them to try. Sharing what we learned in case it's useful for others. The main pattern: **users got stuck at basic Texera navigation, not at the workflow logic.** Specifically: - Account activation blocked everyone (admin approval is manual, and users aren't notified once approved) - Dataset selection wasn't obvious. Several users couldn't tell how to pick or upload - The Run button doesn't appear until a computing unit is created and selected, which surprised users - Downloaded files come without a file extension The Form View design itself worked well once users got past these onboarding steps. **Root cause on our side:** we built the tutorial assuming users already understood Texera concepts (workflow, dataset, computing unit, Hub). They didn't, and got stuck before ever seeing the Form View.
