I also think float would be a nice to have feature. As Roger mentioned, must
come with docs and integration/cross tests.
It is pretty easy today to create a new IDL that is not compatible with an old
IDL. As long as people know float is new and not backward compatible I think it
is reasonable to give them the choice. Would like to see the serialization
protocol stay simple too (just adding it as a new type).
Also important to note that this will be a wire type not necessarily a language
type, e.g. JavaScript and Python have no notion of a 4 byte floating point.
Over/underflow tests should be made in such languages.
