Randy Abernethy commented on THRIFT-2457: ----------------------------------------- I also think float would be a nice to have feature. As Roger mentioned, must come with docs and integration/cross tests. It is pretty easy today to create a new IDL that is not compatible with an old IDL. As long as people know float is new and not backward compatible I think it is reasonable to give them the choice. Would like to see the serialization protocol stay simple too (just adding it as a new type). Also important to note that this will be a wire type not necessarily a language type, e.g. JavaScript and Python have no notion of a 4 byte floating point. Over/underflow tests should be made in such languages. > fbthrift float > -------------- > > Key: THRIFT-2457 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-2457 > Project: Thrift > Issue Type: Sub-task > Components: Build Process, C++ - Compiler, C++ - Library, Test Suite > Reporter: Roger Meier > Priority: Minor > Fix For: 1.0 > > > I'm interested into the fbthrift FLOAT data type. > Which languages are supported? -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.2#6252)
