[~magiconair] the error you got on Ubuntu 12.04 is because automake is version
1.11 and this macro is in 1.13 and later. Try building a newer version fo
automake or grabbing it from a [community
PPA|https://launchpad.net/~dns/+archive/ubuntu/gnu?field.series_filter=precise].
