Github user allengeorge commented on the issue: https://github.com/apache/thrift/pull/1147 The only file that has to be changed is `lib/rs/Cargo.toml`. It's a simple INI-style file, and it has a `version` field in there. Note that Rust does not allow you to overwrite crates, so if someone accidentally releases a 1.0.0 onto https://crates.io the version is going to have to be bumped upwards.
