The goal is to put all Tomcat versions in the same Git repository right? Would that make the svn tags available as git tags or git branches? Is svn2git able to aggregate several tags directories (tags/tc7.0.x/*, tags/tc8.0.x/, etc) ? If not the tags could probably be merged in the same directory before the migration.
