I agree that getting rid of all (even potentially unsafe keys after the great ssh debacle) this way. Will require some administrative effort, though.

Heiner contacted me with this idea. My proposal was not to migrate >500 keys from the OOo main site. I recommended to contact the active code committers and ask for the key or a pointer to the relevant issue with the key attached.

+1 for this. Let's get rid of keys that aren't used anymore.

I would send a mail to the dev list of my project and assume that active
contributors at least read this list regularly. We could also send mails
to some other lists as well (dev, discuss, nl-lists...).

In the worst case people that don't read any of these lists will ask us
how to access the new repository.
