Gautam, that'd be fantastic. I'm not sure how much you know about this but we have to do this report every quarter. The way we've done it so far is to prepare it in the Training Wiki < https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TRAINING/Podling+Reports> then give everyone some time to comment on and and then submit it to the Incubator wiki (linked in the original mail). It'd be fantastic to have a new contributor write (or help write) the report.
With the August report things changed a bit and we need to use Markdown but I sugges you just copy the August version and then put in all the new numbers and whatever else you can think of. The reports are being read by the board and they are people just like us ;-) so they like to read interesting stuff. So don't feel constrained by what we've put in in the past: if you can think of good things to write or include just do it. It can also be helpful to look at reports from other projects but honestly don't put in too much work into this, especially the first time. Once it's submitted the mentors need to sign it off but that's something we need to do ourselves :) Does that help? Do you have access to the Wiki? If not we can get you set up.
