Normally I would be all like "shrug", but we got *so.much.crap* on Cassandra about not being production ready simply due to version numbers until we had a "1.0" release.
Would moving the 0.0.29rc1 to 1.0.0 cause any process issues when we release (given the RC looks good of course)? If not, I think we should do this solely for marketing purposes.
