This is a new OOo Web Site proposal based on a previous mockup
from:  http://www.molcan.cz/download/ooo-mockup2.jpg

The previous mockup had some issues I did disprove:
1.) the excessive height did not allow for important elements to be visible
     on a typical 1024*768 resolution
    - especially the 'Templates/Extensions'-Link gets
      easily overlooked in the original (was below lower screen margin)
    => I reduced the height of the images
       - the 'Templates/Extensions' link will fit now
         on the same screen without scrolling

2.) the download link can be easily missed, because
    the user is distracted by the coloured image,
    therefore missing the *WHITE* 'Get your Office' label
    => ADDED a coloured 'DOWNLOAD'-Message that,
       because of the similar orange colour,
       captions immediately the attantion

3.) NO Easy Navigation
    => Added a MENU-BAR
    => Added a SEARCH-BOX

4.) NO Company Info
    => Added a delimited FOOTER
         - has the added benefit, that the page is contained
           [should be probably on a white background,
             BUT was too complicated to change]

I attached this as the new issue 83885 to the OOo Bugzilla, see
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=83885
See the attached image for this issue:

This mockup is a *strongly marketing-oriented* design. This marketing-driven design is similar in concept to that on the MySQL site (http://www.mysql.com) (although the 2 web pages are quite different, they are heavy business oriented).

Another mockup was discussed on the mailing list. That one was more tech-savy. The final decision will be a political one. IF there is a desire for a marketing-oriented web page, then I would definitely go with this mockup (as opposed to the tech-savy one).

Also, a marketing-oriented design must have the *Why OOo* in the Menu-Bar. I also strongly support the 'FAQ' as a first-level Menu entry, and also the 'Search-Box'. The other items could be still discussed about.

[And as a side-note: Gimp really sucks! Unfortunately I do not have access to Photoshop anymore.]

If you wish further information, please cc me, too (or post to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list, too).

Sincerely,

Leonard Mada
