I think the new header would look really good with the forums. In fact, how about making a custom phpBB 3 skin for the forums so they integrate better with the new design? > James simply removed the login/search part, but left the menu where it > was. While this is ok, I'm not so sure about the selected menu item, in > the proposed user.services.OOo' case 'Home'. Good point - additionally, the forums have their own search function independent from the website so full integration could be a problem - 2 search boxes could be confusing. Or two logins. Maybe it would be best to avoid the tabs in the forums. > Imho, the 'Home' should only be selected on the www.-subdomain. > > The central question is: So what menuitem should we highlight when > browsing user.services.openoffice.org , or e.g. wiki.openoffice.org ? Now that the 'wave' goes along into the menu, there is room for some more menu items, but we don't want to confuse visitors with too many options either. A sub-menu perhaps? So under 'support' we could have the forum, wiki, etc?
