For now I'd suggest:
Keep it within collabnet framework. Since there is a tab we should
actually have a subdomain for news... but be can temporarily do it at e.g.
www.openoffice.org/news
Just copy paste the table from the current website to this static website and maintain it like it has been maintained for the last x years. I think
something like the news page of the marketing folks is best in the long
run, based on RSS.

OK--I can take care of this within the next day or so...I'll let you know. Yeah, it just occurred to me this am to look around at what's going on in Marketing. :/

Why have this on the CollabNet framework? I had this discussion with Kay. I am not convinced--the opposite--that the CN avenue is the one to pursue here.

Hi Louis--

No...I think maarten meant the table that's currently displayed on the home page.

I think, as I wrote, that having a wiki for news works best. You get news that way.

Of course, we could have a Libra solution: both: community news, and then edited news.

I don't like the idea of maintaining ANYTHING in two places. ONE place is much better. I'm not a wike gur but I could probably come up with something that would look reasonably nice there. I DO agree that the wiki would be MUCH easier for these types probably fleeting items.

I'm good with either solution, but given that time is growing short, we need a definitive decision.
