Hi all, The website refresh will be going live in the next few days (hopefully by Saturday). In the meantime, I have been thinking about the issue of localization that Andrea brought up, and was wondering how we could let NL projects modify the header to suit their needs as easily as possible, given the constraints of CollabNet. I have come up with a solution, and would like your feedback.
Basically, it involves 2 .js files (since CollabNet does not seem to provide specific tools for localization, we have to rely on JS, as many NL projects have done so far). One will be a 'settings' file full of variables that allow NL projects to specify localized strings, navigation links and some other settings, like the URL that the logo graphic links to. This will be hosted separately by each NL project. The second file will be hosted in one place and will take care of the localization (replacing HTML, etc). This will allow us to make changes if necessary without making each NL project do it individually. You can see this concept in action at http://www.patentpending.co.nz/openoffice/test/localized.htm And the two files that make it work can be seen at: http://www.patentpending.co.nz/openoffice/test/locale.js (for NL projects) and http://www.patentpending.co.nz/openoffice/test/localization.js (universal) I will write up a wiki page with full instructions if this is given the go-ahead. What do you think? Thanks, Ivan. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
