+1 (with Windows). The code to show the log in box works the same way (and has the same code as) the download button on the homepage so it would be very odd if one worked and the other didn't. Did this happen on some specific page? Or was it, as Alexandro suggested, a mobile version of Opera? Does CTRL + F5 (or just F5 in Opera) help? The user may be behind a caching proxy and not see that they have actually been logged in (i.e., the header will still say that they are still not logged in when actually they are because they are getting cached data). In any case, clicking the little yellow man (currently the little green elf) will take users to the log in page with or without JS enabled.
