Indeed, it looks so much more professional than the older version.
Nevertheless, here are my comments:
* The uppermost element menu (product information, documents with
Writer, ...) looks like a breadcrumb navigation at the first
sight.
* The whole item (menu plus description "Writer ... for all your
documents) reminds me of the "download button objects" which
serve as one control element instead of incorporating different
ones. This is emphasized by the fact that the screenshot and the
text below are separated (different background colors).
* The "highlighted" text for Writer is darker and the difference
is a bit subtle.
* Personally, I'm unsure if the serif font for the sub-line ("for
all your documents") fits to the overall appearance of
OpenOffice.org. Until know, I thought only Bitstream Vera Sans,
Frutiger and other sans serif fonts are used.
I used your work as a starting point and created an own (more or less
finished) proposal. The basic ideas is to color the tabs according the
module colors [1] - which leads to a fundamental problem: The foreground
text require drop shadows to be readable (at least)...

Maybe this is some kind of inspiration :-) I still have some ideas how
the screenshots could be incorporated, but let's first wait for some
comments. And, (because of the effort), I omitted some rounded corners.
