I find interesting what John Viega writes about "CrAP-TCHAs" in his recent book "The Myths of Security" (<http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596523022>), where he weighs usability implications against alleged spam prevention ("However, you can pay someone a mere $2 to break 1,000 CAPTCHAs. [...] All the CAPTCHAs will get entered in as quickly as possible by people in cheap-labor markets like India. [...] If it's this easy to get around a CAPTCHA, they basically don't work, right?").
