Hi Kay:. Tested on Google Chrome 6.0.472.53, Firefox 3.6.10 and Opera 10.11, Linux X86_64, kernel 2.6.3.7 and JRE 6u21
Google Chrome: works perfectly, directed to the Linux RPM build w/o JRE Firefox: set up the same URL as Opera, but got a 404 (can send you the screenshot if you want it). Opera. seemed OK, but ended up being directed to other/html (didn't detect "platform variant" correctly) (last debug messages were "platform varient:**" followed by "platform mapping not available for Linux"). Tested on Windows XP Professional, SP3, fully patched, running in Virtual Box as i686. Browsers: Google Chrome 6.0.472.53, Firefox 3.6.10, Opera 10.11 and Safari 5.0.2. Google Chrome: Functioned correctly Firefox: Functioned correctly, produced correct download Opera: Functioned fine up until the last, then constructed a weird URL (message was "Proposed link : y", redirected to <download.openoffice.org/test/y>) Safari: Functioned correctly. Summary: There appears to be a few issues left on Linux, however Windows functions fine with the exception of Opera. Note, not tested with Internet Explorer. > Hi all-- > > OK, I just finished what I hope will be an improvement to our download > process by including a JRE detection mechanism so you will no longer > automatically get the JRE included with your OpenOffice download package. > > And...thanks to Marcus (and many others) for allowing me to use them as > guinea pigs over and over and over again. > > This entailed a rather major coding revision so hopefully it will stand > more testing. > > The test page is at: > > http://download.openoffice.org/test/index_k.html > > What you will experience: > > * there area bunch of debugging lines that will come out before the > page loads.
