Here’s my draft report for this month - I’m proposing we retire the project to
the Attic as we haven’t really moved the project forward for some time now.

====

Apache Wookie develops software related to implementation of the W3C
Widgets family of specifications.

ISSUES
As mentioned in previous reports, activity in the project has declined and is
now at a minimum with some questions from users and implementers but little on
the development side and also the community has not grown since 2013. The
reasons for this remain the same, in particular the lack of non-proprietary
adoption of the W3C widget specification.

FUTURE
We don’t have any clear use cases that would logically be developed within the
existing Wookie project. While there is potential for work on the new App
Manifest spec, this is more clearly targeted at implementations in web browsers
and mobile runtimes. Likewise the app templating code could be better taken
forward within Cordova rather than Wookie.

We would therefore like to propose that Wookie be moved to the Attic.

RELEASES
Wookie 1.0 was released on 24th February 2014.

ACTIVITY
Work is still being undertaken on Wookie 2.0.

COMMUNITY
Our last committer and PMC member added was Steve Lee on 21st February 2013.
