For the Point-4, I was thinking to make HashSet generic. Following places we
could use like,

protected final static HashSet<String> CHILDREN = new
HashSet<String>(Arrays.asList("1", "2", "3"));
new HashSet<String>(zkClient.getChildren(PARENT_PATH, false))
new HashSet<String>(zkClient.getChildren(PARENT_PATH, false, null))
