BTW, the test kit comes with a user-modifyable startup script - a text
file to which you can add Forth commands. The version of that file in
the distribution contains a patch for the interrupt routing problem that
was breaking the touchpad on the B boards.

An Open Firmware image for OLPC is available for testing. See
http://firmworks.com/linux/OFWtest.html for complete instructions.
The OFW image goes on a USB key along with a regular OLPC Linux build
and LinuxBIOS boots OFW instead of Linux. You can then boot Linux
from inside OFW. (OFW can also be configured as a LinuxBIOS payload
that lives in the boot FLASH, but this version is set up to boot from
a USB key so you can try it out without the risk of reprogramming your
boot FLASH).
This is a complete Open Firmware implementation with all the
trimmings, but only the essential OLPC devices are supported in this
first release. Support for a lot more devices is coming soon; see the
instructions page for details.
