Also, if somebody can help me come up with a minimal set of "critical
link" packages that need to be taken care of, that would be very much
appreciated. I'll then request maintainership for those, unless I come
to my senses by then.
Search for "Depending on: ", it shall give you hints like:
Depending on: ant (310)
or
Depending on: apache-commons-discovery (2)
=> ant is more important than apache-commons-discovery.
This gives you ultimate dependencies, so for example libreoffice is counted in
nasm (290) because it requires libjpeg.so.62 and libjpeg-turbo requires nasm.
