A change that went unnoticed for some time.
The upstream project contains a plain LICENSE file which is identical to
the definition of `LGPL-2.1-only` but their source files include licence
headers explicitly stating: `SPDX-License-Identifier: LGPL-2.1-or-later`.
Therefore I conclude the effective license is `LGPL-2.1-or-later`.
