That's almost three times the resolution of the original design,
and more than five times its memory bandwidth, isn't it ?
Compared to the original 640x480 16bpp framebuffer, that's exactly 13.5
times the memory bandwidth at nearly 4 Gbps. However, with the
Flickernoise renderer, the texture mapping unit - which is not present
here - is a major user of bandwidth. Typical total memory bandwidth use
in FN is about 2 Gbps, and the system chokes at around 3. Milkymist-ng
on M1 provides about 10 Gbps peak, and should make it easier to reach
this sort of bandwidth thanks to out-of-order processing and a large
number of transactions processed in parallel in the controller.
