There is no smbd and nmbd process in Samba4, only "samba" one. That's what I'm trying to figure out ;-) A full log of the samba server produced with /usr/local/samba/sbin/samba -d6 -i -M single would be useful. Your smb.conf should also be valuable to figure out any potential misconfiguration.
