I did a make samba from openchange that I checked out from svn more than a week
ago. ( I tried syncing this morning, no checkins recently)

$ cat /usr/local/samba/include/samba/version.h

/* Autogenerated by script/mkversion.sh */
#define SAMBA_VERSION_MAJOR 4
#define SAMBA_VERSION_MINOR 0
#define SAMBA_VERSION_RELEASE 0
#define SAMBA_VERSION_ALPHA_RELEASE 7
#define SAMBA_VERSION_OFFICIAL_STRING "4.0.0alpha7"
/* Version for mkrelease.sh:
SAMBA_VERSION_STRING=4.0.0alpha7
*/
#define SAMBA_VERSION_STRING "4.0.0alpha7"

How to do that?

If you tell me what utility to use I would be glad to upload a video.

I know few alternatives but none seem to work to my satisfaction.
