Hi List, I would like to discuss with you the libmapi-0.8 ROMULUS roadmap. I've written a preliminary (non-definitive) roadmap below and would really like to hear from you! If you have been waiting for a specific feature for a while, if you have in mind a client-side improvement you'd like to see in openchange, feel free to reply to this email.
If some features are unclear, moreover not listed yet on
trac.openchange.org, and you feel they deserve a better explanation so
you can fully understand their scope, let us know.
Compared to libmapi-0.7 which had initially been designed as an update
release and finally turned into "major release", libmapi-0.8 initially
intends to be a major one.
An approximate time frame for this release would be around 3 months.
However there is often a gap between developers expectations and how the
"real world" works ;-). It will, as usual, depends on how much time and
human resources we can invest into openchange for the next months and
obviously how difficult are the technical challenges behind these
features. We can come with a new release in less than 3 months or it may
take longer (higher probability) ;-)
