Correct. As mentioned on IRC, I'll discuss this feature with Samba team
during SambaXP. If the samba team needs some help with this, I'll be
happy to help.

Agreed. I didn't include it within the TODO list but writing dev/user
doc is obviously an effort we have to continue, moreover improve along
releases.

I have worked on a FreeBSD port a while ago. As far as I can remember
the portability issues with this platform were quite limited. The only
real "problem" I remember was about the comparison_fn_t typedef not
available. There was a couple more, but they were not that difficult to
fix.
