On a related point, does anyone have a more up to date map on broadband take
up than this : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4483065.stm which would
highlight any trends shown in the other two maps?

I've volunteered with youngsters in Glasgow North in the past and I have
seen a massive disaffection with the political process there because the
children and the other volunteers felt completely disconnected from politics
and couldn't understand how voting could make a difference.

I don't know if the electoral commission have done anything on this
disaffection, but I can easily understand an attitude like that, prevailing
in an area, would dampen enthusiasm for any political engagement.

Hi,

It's taking a very long time to get the last 7% of constituencies
covered in Democracy Club. I was just looking at the map on the left
showing where these constituencies are:

 http://www.democracyclub.org.uk/statistics/

It struck me that it bears a striking resemblance to maps of high
unemployment, low income, child poverty e.g.
http://www.poverty.org.uk/02/index.shtml#g3

I don't really have a particular point; I suppose the question is, Is
there a meaningful correlation, and if there is, how can we best
access activists in low-income areas?
