Good point about privacy policy - will try and make it clearer what is happening with your email. It doesn't put you on a list immediately. It will send confirmation emails for each service for you to opt in, after the election. You also don't have to sign up to see the quiz - that is to just help hassle candidates. We have that section quite prominent now, to get the response rate from candidates up so the survey is more use to people next week.
