Well, you name it. Anything that the government produces that people
might be willing to pay for!

Trading funds come into it because they produce all the lovely
locked-up data that most of us want the most - maps, postcodes,
companies information, property, weather, etc.

I've never understood why trading funds don't charge people who produce the data rather than those who consume it - e.g. Companies House could charge more for registering a company, filing annual returns etc. and use that to make the documents themselves freely available.

Same goes for the Land Registry - if you buy a property, you pay a small levy (or part of stamp duty) to cover the cost of maintaining the registry, but downloading information is free.
