I thought it might be nice to see who the candidates where for my local
election which is tomorrow. I like to think of myself as fairly
technically competent but it took me quite a few minutes to find out who
my local candidates are.
Step 1: Go to http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/ and enter my postcode.
Step 2: Follow the link to my council (Wealden District Council)
Step 3: Select link 'Your Council'
Step 4: Select 'Democracy'
Step 5: Select 'Voting and Elections'
Step 6: Select 'Forthcoming Elections'
Step 7: Select 'Statement of Persons Nominated District Elections 05 May
2011'
Step 8: Scroll through 5 page PDF list of wards and candidates until I
find my ward
To me that seems a fairly long winded process and not one that is
particularly intuitive!
Have I missed a really easy to use website where I can just put in my
postcode and it tells me the candidates or does such a website not exist
(yet!)?
